Founded in 1969, the Woodhill School – Botley is a family-run private independent school set in 7 acres of land in the historic market town of Botley.
The school is made up of around 100 pupils and places great importance on keeping class sizes small. Performance, languages and sport are given heavy emphasis and the school offers pupils a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs and activities to choose from. Musical tuition, a range of dance genres, coaching in an array of sports and prep classes are among the many available options for pupils after school. Reading, writing and maths are considered absolutely fundamental and pupils are encouraged to reach their potential in these areas.
The school has a very pro-active charity attached to it which encourages parents and children to get involved in regular organised events, performances and activities. The Friends Of Woodhill School has been responsible for raising funds for a range of projects including a new playground, new IT equipment and library refurbishment.
The Admissions procedure for the school requires parents to get in contact to receive a prospectus and to arrange a meeting with the head, who will provide a tour of the school. The school also encourages potential pupils to join a class for a ‘trial day’ to enable them to get a feel for the atmosphere of the school. An entrance form and registration fee is also required, but here is no formal admission examination. Further details, prospectus and registration forms available at the contact details listed above.
Woodhill School, Botley is an independent day school, and therefore does not have boarding provisions. It is one of two schools in the Woodhill Schools organisation, the other being Woodhill School, Chandler’s Ford, which is also in Hampshire.
