Ditcham Park School is a private independent day school for boys and girls aged 4 – 16. Founded in 1976, the school is located in the East Hampshire hamlet of Ditcham about 4 miles south of Petersfield in a vast expanse of grounds with great views over the South Downs. The school teaches approximately 370 pupils.
There are a great range of facilities available to pupils at the Ditcham Park site including a modern sports hall, a brand new science block, a state-of-the-art technology and arts building and the main school building is a Victorian manor house. There are also tennis courts, a cricket pitch and large amount of playing fields for sports such as football, hockey and rugby.
Ditcham Park School offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities including karate, choirs, orchestras, dance and a range of sports. The school also offers the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and has a particularly strong reputation for cycling and fencing. Regular trips to local areas and abroad are scheduled into the academic calendar. In addition there is a real sense of community created with the Friends of Ditcham Park School run by parents, staff and governors, which organises a range of gatherings and functions such as fayres, quiz and bingo nights, barbeques and auctions.
Pupils are admitted into the school from Reception up to Year 9. Children entering in Years 3 – 6 will be invited to come to the school to undergo an assessment to determine their academic level. A report from the child’s current/previous school will also be required. Admission into the senior school (Year 7+) is selective and candidates are expected to take an entrance examination. The entrance exam normally takes place in the January prior to a September start and the papers are in English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
